Iluro Prize 2015 awarded an honorable mention Dr. Enric Puig

Dr. Enric Puig Giralt, professor of ESDi, has been awarded a second prize in the prestigious  Iluro Award 2015 of Mataro for his work "Rock and pop culture in Mataró. A vision involved" in a ceremony held on 18 November in the city of Maresme. It is a historical study, musicological, sociological and semiotic about what represented the music and pop culture media throughout the twentieth century. In this case, this issue focuses on Mataro and Maresme, making a historic record since the first demonstrations of dances in the late nineteenth century to current trends, through Dixieland, swing, years of rock, boom of the sixties at hippie era, punk, etc.As Puig said, "this cultural contribution had been neglected until a few years ago and today it is essential to understand the society in which we live." Historical Monograph Award of Iluro is an award instituted by the Savings Mataro 1959 Iluro currently held by the Foundation, awarded to the best work of historical investigation or Mataro Maresme and this year concurred jobs in September. The jury awarded the work entitled "La Marina de Levante during the War of Succession. Corpus 1714", the work of  Francesc Forn Salvà and also granted the prize to Dr. Puig. Enric Puig holds a PhD in Linguistics and Communication and BA in English from the University of Barcelona. He is Professor of Linguistics Department within the Faculty of Philology of the UB and Department of Humanities at the URL, besides developing teaching at ESDi.
