After less than a year of concluding their studies in ESDi and presenting their innovative collection at our Degree Show, designers Ane Castro and Núria Costa have been distinguished by Samsung with the Samsung EGO Innovation Project Award, which will allow them to present a collection during the closing of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, on January 29. In addition to the possibility of inaugurating the Samsung EGO catwalk in the Fashion Week, the prize awards Castro and Costa with 10.000 euros to carry out their proposal, the brand ZER, now acknowledged by one of the main platforms for promoting young talents in fashion. The ESDi alumni will show their project CONECT3D, which is composed of 10 looks that were elaborated with materials acquired through 3D printing and digital manufacturing, and which propose a reflection on fashion production and the introduction of new technologies in the garment industry. Each look, moreover, will incorporate Samsung devices in order to illustrate the adaptation of fashion to technology. As they did with their Final Degree Project, COD3NTIDAD, which submerged itself in concepts like identity theft and duplication through patterns and materials, CONECT3D adds sustainable fabrication processes that are able to eradicate the possibility of material surplus in confection.
