On the occasion of the festivity of Sant Josep, patron saint of carpenters, on Friday March 20th the Gremi de la Fusta de Sabadell i Comarca and the Escola Industrial de Sabadell organizes a new edition of the Concurs d’Estudiants de la família professional Fusta i Moble, PFI i aprenents de taller de Fusteria – Ebenisteria. This year, the School of Design ESDI collaborates in this XXIII edition of the contest, proposing the object that participating students will have to replicate in wood. The chosen piece is a project that made a student of 4t Product Design, Mireia Mesalles, during the previous year, but will not be showed until the day of the competition. The best reproduction of the design will be the winner and criteria as the similarity with the original piece, the working method and the finishment will be considered. The competition will take place from 9-13 hours at the workshops of the Escola Industrial de Sabadell and awards will be made to 14pm. The same designer's work, Mireia Mesalles and Professor of ESDI Marc Puigbó will be part of the jury along with other members of the Escola Industrial. Within the same collaboration between the two institutions, in future courses Professor Marc Puigbó will make a project with students of 2n during the course of Materials and Technology, where material wood working, to design objects to be reproduced in future editions of the competition.
