The City Council of Barcelona and the BCD Barcelona Design Center have organized the first edition of the program "Christmas lights illuminate shop windows", an initiative aimed at boosting local commerce in Gran de Sarrià street. The idea is that the Christmas lighting, subscribed up to now in the street, invades the shop windows and becomes a key element in the design of a shop window. And, the particularity of the initiative is, without a doubt, the involvement of the Design Schools, promoting, as well, the young emerging talent.Each center is responsible, as well, for the design of a shop window of one of the shops in the area and ESDi will showcase the trade Josefa Cortinas, with whom the proposal has been working for the next 30 November. The project is being worked on by the ESDi Product Unit with Professor Laura Martínez and students Julia López Sáez and Paula Abián y Gimbert. The values of the project, which is part of the 2017 Christmas campaign, are the responsibility of building a neighborhood with the act of purchase, diversity and good service offered by local commerce, responsible consumption, environmental sustainability, social and economic that supposes our model of commerce and its alliances with the social and cultural entities of the area.
